Program Description

Pick up from the hotels. A trip to the south of Corfu is an opportunity to discover the charms of the Old Town, centuries-old olive groves, rocky coastlines, and picturesque villages. Start with a visit to Garitsa Bay, which leads to the historic part of the island's capital, full of elegant buildings, churches, and tall arcaded houses. Urban streets lead to and from the old harbour, where there is a fortress and the famous Church of St Spiridon, the island's patron saint, where his relics are kept. As you walk, you pass the town hall and the famous Spianada Square, which leads to the palace of St Michael and St George, as well as the old Venetian fortress.

Next, make a stop at Liston Street and take time to have a coffee or shop in one of the souvenir shops. The route continues through olive groves to the charming village of Agii Deka, from where you have a magnificent view of Corfu Town. This village, built in a typical Corfiot style, delights with its narrow stone streets and old ornate balconies, offering an insight into the simple way of life of the residents. During the journey, your guide will talk about the old way of life and traditions, which are particularly relevant in the south of the island.

The next stop will be a traditional olive press. On-site, there is an opportunity to learn about the olive oil production process, from the ancient press from the 16th century to modern technology. After the tasting, the route continues southwest, finally reaching Marathias beach, one of the most beautiful and longest sandy beaches on the island. Here the landscape surprises you with its natural beauty - small villages untouched by tourism, traditional lifestyles, and hospitable residents. Free time on-site for lunch, swimming, or relaxing on the beach.

On the way back, make a stop in one of the oldest mountain villages of Corfu - Chlomos, founded in the 13th century. The typical old houses with yellow tiles give the impression that time has stopped. From there, you have a beautiful view of the Korission lagoon - one of the most important aquatic protected areas in Greece, rich in a diversity of plants, insects, and birds. Before returning to the hotels, take a coffee break in a traditional Greek café to end the day in a relaxed atmosphere. Return to the hotels.
